Choosing your Music for your Reception!

You will remember the music and songs played at your wedding for years to come. From the moment you walk down the aisle to your first dance, your wedding songs should reflect your personalities as a couple and hold great meaning for you both. Whether you are an Ed Sheeran fan, good with Marvin Gaye or after something classical even, We have a music database that pretty much covers everything!

You will probably be thinking now “I would like this song, or would my guests like this song or that song?” It can be a great experience choosing your music but at the same time a very frustrating one too!

We have some tips below for you both to consider in your planning stages!

Do you have a theme for your wedding?

Think about what works with your theme and what type of music you like as a couple.

What sort of atmosphere are you wanting to create for the reception?

The reception is when you will have most of the important wedding music. It is when you will have background music to start with, Your First Dance together, party songs for your evening dancing and a final send-off song to end the night. How pop/rock/disco/soul you go should fit in with the atmosphere you are creating for the reception, whilst also thinking about your invited guests too.

Get Listening to Music!

Make lists of your favourite songs, ask guests for theirs! We have had lots of couples who have asked their guests for the evening to list one song on their RSVPs to give to us to play for them during evening which works well for us as it means we can make sure everyone enjoys themselves.

We also do encourage requests from your Guests too so we get a feel of what sort of music they like as well as your chosen tracks or artists.

Below is a Top 20 of what we can play for you during your wedding reception.

1. Earth Wind and Fire September

2. Justin Timberlake Can’t Stop the Feeling

As mentioned above, we love taking requests too so if you have not put on your Must Play list it may well pop up during the evening too. Also, if your enjoying yourselves and think of a song that you didn’t include then please do ask us, if we have it and it works, we will try to play it for you!
